And it's . . .

. . . Hawaii, as you may have guessed by now.

Kauai, again, and the Big Island. Airfare was $250 a person. With a combination of staying with friends, points, mileage and brown bagging, we spent less than $50 a day per person for everything.

A few photos to warm the soul.

  3. Dave and I went to the Big Island on our honeymoon (and Kauai on separate trip a year later). Be interested to hear what you thought -- both D and I preferred Big Island, but there aren't many places more beautiful or more wild than Kauai's Napali coast.

  5. We've been to Kauai three times and love its wild green beauty. We only had three days at the Big Island and barely scratched the surface. Kahaluu Beach snorkeling (Big Island) was the best.

  7. Well, sort of. We recalculated, and we actually spent about $70 a day per person - car rental, parking fees, gifts, food, etc.

We get by cheaper than most with good deals on airfare and car rental and staying with friends a big part of the time.

  10. wow, that's awesome!! I may be tagging along w/ my DH to Waikiki in a couple of weeks, courtesy of his accumulated airline miles, and of the course, the company room and car rental. We WILL have to pay for 3 y/o ticket...that's where I'm faltering..not at the price of the ticket, but of traveling w/ a 3y/o...bleck.
